SAINT PETERSBURG TRAM COMPANY [SPTC] MODELS FOR SALE
October 2012

This model is surplus to my collection and is out of production. It presents a one off opportunity to obtain this unique, beautifully made resin cast replica in 1/48th scale but due to the size of American prototypes would be quite at home on a UK tramway layout. Further information about the model will be given gladly by Terry Russell.

This is an expensive scale model and only sensible offers will be considered. If you are interested in purchasing this model tram please . If you use a web based email account then click here. Don't forget to include your offer to purchase and state how you will pay. I will advise you if your current offer is acceptable.

1936 VINTAGE AEC MERCURY TOWER WAGON '0' GAUGE MODEL KIT
June 2012

1936 Vintage AEC Mercury Tower Wagon '0' GAUGE MODEL KIT Just four weeks too late to catch the 50th anniversary of the end of the LT trolleybus system but just in time for the 60th anniversary of the end of the LT tram network!

An '0' gauge [1/43rd rather than 1/50th - so suitable for St Petersburg tram & trolleybus collectors] resin and lost wax brass [white metal wheels] limited edition model [kit] of the 1936 vintage AEC Mercury Tower Wagon in its short two-bay crew cab form. All measurements were taken from the preserved 89Q at the LT Museum.

The tower is lost wax brass and, when assembled, consists of three telescopic sections - soldering will be required. The cradle has a balcony frame which can be raised and lowered. The outer tower has a three piece ladder and the various wire loops attached to it. Click on the image above for an enlarged version and also a picture of the actual vehicle.

Like most of the models from Dr A Sharma, it is a computer generated 3D pattern which has been turned into solid form via stereo lithography [aka, "rapid prototyping"] so a 3-bay version would require very little additional drawing work - if there was sufficient demand.

It is currently available from Radley Models at www.radleymodels.co.uk. Priced at £109.00 plus P&P of £9.00. Incidentally, the next LT trolleybus-related road vehicles in the pipeline are an AEC Mercury pole carrier 92Q and/or 1081Q.
